Weekly Reflection Post: 13-17/10/2014 (KC)

We filmed on 15th October in our chosen location (which was the Hall), we had everything organised and set up. All three of the Actors were able to make it, which allowed us the tie to film the shots where the boys and Bekki were together. We used a different Camera to the previous week, as we didn't like the grainy effect it had when we played the footage back. This meant that we had to shoot Bekki's part at the beginning of the song again. After we achieved this, we focused on the boys singing.

They hadn't heard of the song before, so beforehand Michelle printed of the lyrics and highlighted (with different colours) indicating which parts of the song Johnny and Cam would sing. We didn't film anything of the boys yet, as they still had to learn the words. As it was half term the week after, this have the time to learn the lyrics to the song. They watched the original Music Video, to grasp the sense of what they need to do. We got them to learn the first verse of the song and filmed them singing. This enabled us to see what the boys would be like for the Music Video and we felt that they matched the Pop genre.

Once the session was over, we returned the equipment to their places and planned what our agenda was the week we came back after half term. This would give the boys plenty of time to learn the lyrics to the song and hopefully we were to get straight back to filming, as we had a Draft Deadline for the 31st October.

We went to Estates and booked the Hall for the next 4 Wednesday's, ensuring that we have plenty of time to film for the Final Deadline.

Realisation of Error on Digipak and Advert (HA)

After looking over my Digipak and Advert, I realised that I have not put a 'PARENTAL GUIDANCE' notice on the documents. I should have put this on there because some of the lyrics are explicit and may not be suitable for children that may listen to the album.

Weekly Reflection Post:6-10/10/2014 (MK)

On Wednesday, we had a chance to take a few shots in our chosen location. However, our two leading guys were unable to make it, but our lead girl was. The meant that we were able to not only get the first 2 seconds of the video, but play around with the placement of the camera and rehearse many times. This took us longer than expected, but was needed due the fact that we didn't know what to expect on the day. When filming, we had to use an SLR camera instead of the Handycam because it was unavailable at the time, however, we have tested the footage and have discovered that it is something that we can use in the duration of the filming (Note: We have practised using the Handycam during the preliminary tasks).

CD Cover Analysis (KC)

For the CD Cover, I have looked at MKTO's cover for inspiration.

This Cover is very simple, it just consists of a neutral background. This could connote to the fact that the music and artists appeals to a wide range of audience; attracting more fans and revenue. Another thing this Cover implicates is the image of the two and the artists name (which is distinctive in between the letters K and T). This gives the effect that the boys drew out their initials and left the outline of the sparkler, which can be interpreted in many ways. One of which is that there names are illuminated as a show sign, similar to those in the 1920's. Furthermore, this could also connote to the band's fiery passion for music.

As the two artist appear on the CD Cover, it is evident that the genre this band belongs to is Pop. Most Pop musicians/ artist's face will appear on the CD Cover, to make it obvious as to who the audience will be buying.

These few examples are all derived from Pop. The females in the CD Covers make no eye contact, whereas the males are looking directly at the camera/ audience. As we are using a Pop, the CD Cover will need to fit the genre conventions. All of these match the rule of thirds, in the MKTO Cover the head and shoulder are located in the top thirds. The middle third is the band name, which is the largest and most attractive aspect of this CD Cover.
