Appearance: Costumes (HA 3/4) (MK 1/4)

In our music video we are aiming to portray one of the women as 'Classic'. To do this, they will be the only one to be wearing a traditional 1920's dress. This will show the clash between the generations and also make the one woman stand out from the rest. Our two lead singers will still be wearing suits but they will be of modern orientation. This will be the linking factor between the 1920's time period and also the modern style of the video. This linking factor would also give meaning to the point of why the two lead men are attracted to the 'Classic' woman.

At the party, the majority of the people will be wearing modern dress except for the woman which I have already divulged. The majority will be wearing normal modern clothing to further accentuate the lead classic woman. We will ask the majority to bring in clothes from home as they could be suitable for the modern theme. Before the shoot we will most likely ask to see the costumes/outfits to check the suitability and also see if they suit the overall colour scheme of the video. If any are unsuitable we will have to organise new costumes for the person to wear.

The Great Gatsby is a very big influence on the video and we are aiming to get a Gatsby inspired dress for our leading lady. Below are some examples of possible style dresses we can have. We think that in order to not spend a lot of money, we should search on leading high-street websites for suggestions and possible choices for alternate 'Great Gatsby' style dresses.

The style of this dress is very much what we are aiming to re-create due to the fact that the dress has some style of 'bling' on the front, and being completely white, we think that it stands out from the intended 'backdrop' of black and the dark red curtain. However, we think that is too simple and maybe go for something that is more appealing to the eye.

We like the style of this dress because it's very authentic and the pattern on the dress is similar to the theme of our video. The collar on the dress gives it more of a classy look and draws the viewer towards the model's face. However, we think that maybe it should be available in another colour (cream).

We like the fabric of the dress and it has been made with care and the crochet effect connects well with the theme of our music video. Again, if the dress was a cream colour, it would appeal to us a lot better, but it very traditional and includes hints of a modern aspect.

The leading male performers will be dressed in a traditional/modern suit to be the link between the 1920's and current times. An example of something that would be perfect for the two men in the video is below-

This style of suit has the classy/smart aspects of the 1920's with the trendy style of modern times. The handkerchief in the jacket pocket is a iconic style choice for many men in the 1920's that people will recognise straight away. However the skinny fit style of the suit is a modern trait that is also recognisable as a smart style. The combination of the two generations will appeal to multiple age groups as previously stated.

This suit would also work well in the video because it is smart and similar looking to the one above. The colour of this suit is grey which connotes a more serious tone to the party but also looks more classic and smart then the previous suit which can be found at Topman. This suit is definetly the more traditional suit out of the ones I have seen.

The final suit I picked was, I feel, a perfect mixture between Traditional and also contempary fashion that would be great for the video we are trying the create. The classic navy colouring paired with the skinny fit style of the jacket/suit is a perfect combination.

We understand that we might not be able to get both our leading male actors in the same suits but we will strive to get them to stand out and look good/appropriate for the time period.
