We picked this song firstly because we all enjoy the style in how it was sung and performed and secondly because we saw a lot of potential in how we could put our own spin on the song.
Our initial ideas were to do a 1920s style Gatsby-Esque performance and somehow incorporate the dancers from the college. This would differentiate the video from a normal music video as it would include both a performance from an outside source and the artists themselves.You could say that this would make the video an 'Illustration' video as it has a mixture of the artists themselves and also a small narrative story.

Song- I Love You
Genre- Baroque Pop
This was my own personal preference as I like this style of music and also the narrative video. However, replicating this type of video would have proved to tricky and very unrealistic. Any other video other than a narrative video would not have suited this song as the artist is very secretive and doesn't tend to appear openly in videos. To do a non narrative video would have been wrong.

CHVRCHES are quite an alternative band which we thought were effective. We enjoyed the strange and unusual take on the electronic genre but didn't think it would resonate with a larger audience. This style of video also appealed to us but the effects used in it maybe a bit too tricky to replicate thus making the overall video less effective and pleasing to the eye.

In this song Bruno Mars has the attitude that we are aiming to recreate in our video. He is very laid back and lets the music take center stage in the music video. Even though we are going to be focusing quite a lot of the artists we want to make the music very much the focal point of the video and not the people that are in it. The era of this music video is not the same as our own but we want to transfer the same passion and energy that is evident in this video.

In this video for Maroon 5's One More Night we thought tat the passion in the song was relayed into the video, something we very much want to recreate. The genre of this music video is 'Amplication' which displays a similar story to the story in the song. This is where the 'amplify' term comes in. Again the era and the story wouldn't suit our song. Recreating this sort of video wouldn't be feasible as it requires multiple locations and also lots of different actors and actresses.
