GENRE/SONG OF MUSIC VIDEO
Genre:
- The genre that we all decided upon for our music video was 'Pop'. We chose this genre as 'Pop' as it is famous and is hugely recognised globally. Furthermore, we are able to experiment with this Genre. This is because we have seen many interpretations in a variety of existing music videos. 'Pop' is the best genre for our group due to the fact that we are heavily influenced by it because we listen to 'Pop' on a day-to-day basis.
- We have decided to pick a few other Male artists that relate to the artist that we are basing our music video on. By doing this, we are researching further into this genre and is able to gain a clearer view of what this genre consists of.
Song:
- The song decided on for our music video was 'Classic' by MKTO. 'Classic' has become extremely popular, not only in the USA (where they originate) but in other countries too, that they are also heavily influenced. MKTO's music video incorporates an era that was widely known as the 'Jazz Age' during prohibition, where "Jazz played a significant part in wider cultural changes during the period, and its influence on pop culture" [1]. Not only has this era influenced music, it has influenced other aspects of media such as film and television (e.g. The Great Gatsby).
